Has anyone managed to create a fork or other solution that provides
director functionality? A small setup where it can be managed, for
example, with Rabit/Redis, is one thing, but not a larger
environment. The documentation for 2.4.x seems to have something
like this: https://doc.dovecot.org/2.4.3/howto/lua_director.html
"This is an unsupported method of running Dovecot. Caveat emptor.
It is only intended for small-scale deployments – this is NOT
designed to scale for more than a few servers."
