Thanks Aki, That 2.4.2 document whose URL you replied with makes it clear that mail_home is valid in 2.4.2, so you answered my question. I searched dovecot.org and google for 20 minutes before asking: I just couldn't find it. Now that I'm learning more about the structure of Dovecot documentation, this will happen less and less.
