The configuration for dovecot has changed alot with the new 2.4 release of dovecot. You're quickest answer would be to try and downgrade your dovecot back down to v2.3 instead. Then you can setup a test system and work on migrating your configuration to v2.4 format. We don't care about your hardware configuration, it's all in terms of your current dovecot configurate.
