Looks like sockets are missing/incorrect. The client socket should be placed in
the Postfix CHROOT:
socket listen {
master {
path = /var/run/dovecot/auth-master
mode = 0600
user = vmail
group = mail
}
client {
path = /var/spool/postfix/private/auth
mode = 0660
user = postfix
group = postfix
}
}
}
Postfix needs to reference it like this:
[main.cf]
smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot
smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth
