So you want mbox as INBOX and Maildir elsewhere? http://wiki.dovecot.org/Namespaces has example for that. > prefix: #mbox/ > location: maildir:~/Maildir:INBOX=/var/mail/%u You need to use mbox: prefix and some other path than ~/Maildir.
