Huh? exim won't try local deliver unless it has decided it is a local recipient. You won't get overquota status this way, did you mean that?

No. The problem is the "try"... or at least, it was when I had a cyrus + exim setup five years ago. With cyrus it was impossible to easily check if the recipient was an existing local user. It required either the use of the mbpath utility or a recipient callout with lmtp over tcp. I suppose that with a virtual users setup this is a moot point, but with system users nothing beats the simplicity of an all exim setup! (If you use exim, that is).
