Does dmesg show anything? If not, I've no idea.
I switched to Xen and the problem seems to be solved. dovecot ran all night
with a few clients connected. Therefore, looks like VPS Link + OpenVZ
(2.6.18-ovz028stab039.1-smp) + dovecot (any version) is not an option.
