the log says the following

plain_md5_verify([EMAIL PROTECTED]): Invalid password encoding
Easily fixed. (You are using MD5 for your passphrases, right?)
in dovecot-sql.conf
default_pass_scheme = MD5
/etc/init.d/dovecot restart
That should work.
