Solved the problem with these settings in dovecot.conf:
protocol lda {
mail_plugins = quota
postmaster_address = [EMAIL PROTECTED]
hostname = mail.mydomain.com
sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail
auth_socket_path = /var/run/dovecot/auth-master
}
