Firstly I am apologies for using my wife's Email as just Yesterday I
found it impossible to create Emails as something was going wrong in the
plusnet settings.
I was a contractor for a long time and on one project I met Unix and it
was Linux from then on.
I have been with plusnet for many many years and as BT had messed it
about I started using Gmail.
It is wone of these w/e when everything goes wrong as Gmail kept asking
for a password - I only had the one "seeyou2410@gmail" but it just kept
asking for a new code.
So getting nowhere I phoned Plusnet who said Emails are too much trouble
- use Gmail!!!
I think that may have been why I couldn't get plusnet Emails
A short explanation a big old desktop that has worked faithfully for
many years dies a deah and I am still trying to save data from that.
Then a Dell lap top I used for coding and managing staging, lights and
sound. This was Linux Mint 19.2
a week ago I put 20.2 on a DVD but I could see I was not using half of
the data - now I was in a hurry to do something.
I had a few years back obtained a Zoomstorm already Linux but I brought
it up to date for my wife to help her foster panel meetings.
Now she has retired from that job, I added myself so started downloading
- but could not install any apps as I had forgotten the sudo word. This
wasn't critical but it was a pain!
I went back to the DELL - thinking no - I'll ge someone to do it (as we
have had a flood into a room - which is filled up with huge
de-humidifiers - still not dried out the room 4 weeks since the 'flood'
then it will be a start on rebuilding.)
So I passed it on to a guy close by.
who said he would fix it.
He captured all of the data onto a disc which was useful - which he said
he had in Home.
As I left his house he admitted he knew very little about Linux.
So when I opened up it had WINDOWS in the panel!!!
I couldn't get GPARTED to add all needed apps and I cannot install
anything as we had no idea what the sudo was. I told him about my old
Password (LightsUp) but he obviously passed that by
but of course I could'nt install as sudo was unknown.
I am trying to increase Home and add another partition but Gparted well
not let me change anything. - Any ideas please?
And to top it all yesterday and today I found out that Plusnet Emails
has been kicked off. I can't use GMAIL as it is concerned that can't use
my own password because GMAIL counts me as an imposter.
I was told today that Plusnet is dropping Email and passing it on to Gmail.
I must admit I am long in the tooth now, but I don't seem to get
anywhere with restoring Emails which is a pain.
Kind regards
Charles Upton
.
So since I was
