I have had my 10 solar panels for about 7 1/2 years now, and they each have individual Enphase Microinverters so they can be monitored individually. For a few years one of them seemed to be generating about 1/3 more power than the other panels. The hitch with this was when it reached a certain amount the inverter switched off, and I only got electricity from 9 panels.
I investigated this with the Enphase company and they eventually agreed that there was a fault and sent me a replacement microinverter. The agent here installed it last week. Now everything seems ok, except that the different panel only generated the same as the other 9. I don't know whether over the longer period I have gained or lost in having that microinverter swapped, but losing the power generation from one panel for most of hot summer days did irk me. The faulty inverter, which was a sealed unit, has been sent back to California for investigation. I assume that there is a small linux processor inside which is why I posted here! https://enphase.com/en-gb/installers/microinverters Cheers, Peter -- Next meeting: Online, Jitsi, Tuesday, 2022-07-05 20:00 Check to whom you are replying Meetings, mailing list, IRC, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk New thread, don't hijack: mailto:dorset@mailman.lug.org.uk
