Thanks, Victor. I took the spirit of your advice and tried a DIY
implementation for the first application. I just created a .desktop
entry in /usr/share/applications which stated that the Exec is in /opt/...
I've also taken an image from the application website and used gimp to
create a png for the icon.
So far, so good.
