Hi, We touched on this last night, but I I'm still not sure if I understood what was going on. I can't quite correlate the BOINC 'Computing preference' to the task behaviour. In the Computing tab, under 'Usage limits', I have set 'Use at most 100% of the CPUs' and 'Use at most 75% of CPU time'.
I've uploaded a couple of screenshots: In this one: http://hadrian-way.co.uk/Misc/BOINC_Tasks_and_CPU_History.png[1] The graphical display of the CPU history would tend to support my settings, but in this one: http://hadrian-way.co.uk/Misc/BOINC_Tasks_and_Process_Table.png[2] The CPU usage never gets to any value that can be correlated with 75% utilisation. Basically it flips between 6% and 12% every second or so. So what was the explanation again? -- Terry Coles -------- [1] http://hadrian-way.co.uk/Misc/BOINC_Tasks_and_CPU_History.png [2] http://hadrian-way.co.uk/Misc/BOINC_Tasks_and_Process_Table.png -- Next meeting: Online, Jitsi, Tuesday, 2020-05-05 20:00 Check to whom you are replying Meetings, mailing list, IRC, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread, don't hijack: mailto:dorset@mailman.lug.org.uk
