Agreed.  However, I've used Filezilla for years (initially on Windows), so 
it's a familiar interface.  Also the script would have to be (excuse the pun) 
extremely prescriptive.  Yes.  I mostly move the same files up and own, but 
they aren't always the target.  This would mean that I would need lots of 
different scripts, (or a sexy one with menus) and I would still have to keep 
updating it if I needed to access different files or devices.  If I'd spent my 
formative years in the shell I've no doubt that I would be doing as you 
suggest, but I didn't so I use what is familiar to me.

With GUI based file tool, such as Filezilla or Snowflake (I hope), I only have 
to add the new IP Address and credentials for each new device and the rest can 
be done by browsing the filesystem.
