Thanks, Joplin looks like it's done the trick for me. Emacs Org mode looks interesting, but doesn't seem to do file sharing, and also I can't use Emacs, but thanks for the idea anyways. I can sort of use Vim though *hides from Vim vs Emacs debate* :)
