I have two extension boards: one powers devices that have to be on 24/7 such as aerial amplifier, HDD recorder. The other powers the TV, DVD player, fresat tuner. The latter remains on from first switch-on (wife watching one-* disaster films while ironing!!) to when I retire.
I've long recognised what Terry says about leaving electronic devices on because switching off/on can stress them - I have all my computers on 24/7, and 4 of them are running Boinc.
