I've just updated Raspbian see: https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspbian-update-november-2018/
Amongst other things, there is a fairly substantial update to Thonny. This was always a pretty simple Python IDE, but now the debugger has been enhanced to allow breakpoints. Previously, I've mainly used IDLE for my Python programming, but I was never able to get breakpoints to work, which meant single stepping through oodles of code. The new version of Thonny has a 'Run to cursor' feature that allows working code to be executed before the debugger kicks in. It isn't yet available for K(Ubuntu), although it is listed in the Discus (19.04) list of packages. You can also get it from the Thonny website and install it as follows: https://bitbucket.org/plas/thonny/wiki/Linux -- Terry Coles -- Next meeting at *new* venue: Bournemouth, Tuesday, 2018-12-04 20:00 Check if you're replying to the list or the author Meetings, mailing list, IRC, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread, don't hijack: mailto:dorset@mailman.lug.org.uk
