That's also an experience I have made with other oo.a.o mailing
lists. I'm using K-9 as an email client with Android. Adding infra as
recipient.
@infra: Is that a know issue? Is there a way to fix it?

The primary limitation is probably the email reader on Android (sadly).
Thanks for letting me know that it is not just me....
(side note: Mike, remind me to show you this to see if you know of any
solutions for viewing eml attachements in email. Your web client on your
system just shows the message inline after the primary message).
