All,
Thank you all for the productive meetings during IETF 122, and a special
thanks to Paul Hoffman for taking the minutes. You can find the minutes
here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/minutes-122-dnsop/.
We'd also like to share the action items the chairs have taken away from
the sessions. We will review and prioritise these during our chairs
call in the next weeks.
Thanks,
Suzanne, Tim and Benno
Chairs Actions IETF 122
(all subject to revision as consensus develops)
* Clarifications on CDS/CDNSKEY and CSYNC Consistency
- draft-ietf-dnsop-cds-consistency
Chairs Action: DNSDIR Review, then WGLC in April
* Domain Verification Techniques using DNS
- draft-ietf-dnsop-domain-verification-techniques
Chairs Action: none - authors revising, should have new version in April
* DNS Filtering Details for Applications
- draft-nottingham-public-resolver-errors
Chairs Action: draft has had positive feedback and significant support
for WG adoption; Call for Adoption, if adopted to be published as
Informational
* Clarifications to the DNS Ranking Data
- draft-fujiwara-dnsop-ranking-data
Chairs Action: none - More review needed, but limited interest in
adopting at this time.
----------
DNSSEC and zone management drafts, probably have to be handled as a
cluster, if adopted, principally advocated by Johan Stenstam (.se registry)
* Distributed DNSSEC Multi-Signer Bootstrap
- draft-leon-dnsop-signaling-zone-owner-intent
* Signalling Key State Via DNS EDNS(0) OPT
- draft-berra-dnsop-keystate
* Automating DNS Delegation Management via DDNS
- draft-johani-dnsop-delegation-mgmt-via-ddns
Chairs Action:
Johan has presented draft-johani-dnsop-delegation-mgmt-via-ddns in the
past. It describes a process already in use, and WG input is unlikely to
change it substantially, so the suggestion is to publish with the ISE.
draft-berra-dnsop-keystate is worth considering as a WG item.
draft-leon-dnsop-signaling-zone-owner-intent describes a process or set
of processes. It appears to be complex, and needs further discussion
that may or may not result in WG adoption.
----------
* DNS Update with JSON
- draft-hoffman-duj
Chairs Action: CfA, when it fits into WG’s workload, getting to WGLC is
probably a relatively quick process. There’s been mailing list interest
and feedback
* Domain Name System (DNS) Public Key Based Request and Transaction
Authentication ( SIG(0) )
- draft-eastlake-dnsop-rfc2931bis-sigzero
Chairs Action: Seems to be complementary to DNSSD work on SRP, so
reach out to DNSSD. (SIG(0) is referred to in
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-johani-dnsop-delegation-mgmt-via-ddns/
though.)
* Collision Free Keytags for DNSSEC
- draft-huque-dnsop-keytags
Chairs Action: Further discussion needed. Interest in adoption but much
debate, is the outcome worth the work?
* dry-run DNSSEC
- draft-yorgos-dnsop-dry-run-dnssec
Chairs Action: Document is presented a number of times. CfA is
requested to probe interest, okay with whatever happens.
* A Top-level Domain for Private Use
- draft-davies-internal-tld
Chairs Action: CfA; if adopted, the major issue is whether to add to
Special Use Registry; WGLC when that’s resolved, if no other major
issues arise
