Hello DNSOP, You may recall that DNSSD adopted https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dnssd-multi-qtypes/, which defines a way for clients to query for multiple RR types in a single message. If servers don't support this, clients should detect this and handle it well. There are of course many ways this could be used. Some clients might want to learn about A, AAAA and HTTPS in one query. Others might want SRV and TXT. Or something altogether different.
DNSSD appears to have mostly completed its inputs, although some points raised by Vladimir in dnsdir review are still open. We're now intending to see how the concept works in reality at the 122 Hackathon. We'd love you to join us, whether to discuss it, try an implementation or simply to see how multi-qtypes interacts with your unmodified code. Your experience with DNS may be critical, so please come and join us if you can. In particular if you'd like to bring code for this interop, please let me know so I can plan for your needs. We're not limited to the weekend, so activity during the meeting week may also be possible. Thanks Chris
