the movie quote was a reminder to think a little bit about -why- things are
the way they are. for most of the current list participants, IPv4 & IPv6
co-existence is the only multiple protocol environment they have ever seen.
for some, this is not the first time we have seen multiple protocols active
at the same time.
when you realize that DNS is, basically a query/response system that is
transport agnostic, the original question becomes moot. I can put X.25,
NSAP, IPv4, IPv6, and a few other addressing formats into the DNS as data
which can be queried. That in no way reflects the transport used to get to
the data.
