Ubuntu has a long-standing bug that causes a 5-second delay in any reverse lookup that yields NXDOMAIN: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nss-mdns/+bug/94940 > If so, then we (home users) need the reverse PTR.
