Deckard (https://github.com/CZ-NIC/deckard) tries to be a generic way of testing DNS recursors and also has DNSSEC validation tests.
The Deckard file format is based on the Unbound test format. I also need to test a DNSSEC validator soon. We have an implementation of the same format in Rust. I plan to try both the Unbound and the Deckard tests to see what works best and if there are differences.
