Hi Orange,

I'm not sure where the address 198.32.65.12 mentioned in that hints file ...

-; temporarily housed at ISI (IANA)
+; housed in Japan, operated by WIDE
 ;
 . 3600000 NS M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.
-M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 3600000 A 198.32.65.12
+M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 3600000 A 202.12.27.33

... comes from, although 198.32/16 has quite some history that Bill Manning
might
enlighten us about. I don't have a copy of root 1997051700, though.

Thanks, I got "M" and "202.12.27.33" ;-)

The serial numbers are from root zone SOA RRs.

M appeared first with root zone 1997031300

. 518400 NS M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.
M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 518400 A 192.0.6.13

and was then relocated with root zone serial 1997082200

-M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 518400 A 192.0.6.13
+M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. 518400 A 202.12.27.33

Just for the record, K came in 1997012200 on 198.41.0.11 (twin of J, same
birth date and on 198.41.0.10 until 2002110401) and was later (1997051900?)
relocated to Europe on 193.0.14.129. Maybe we'd add that detail to the I-D's
appendix.
