Wish DNS software prohibited at least A and AAAA records for any domain (zone), as opposed to "host" (this is largely indistinguishable for resolvers). We wouldn't have this dilemma. I know, this is not trivial to implement. The current situation is very similar to the argument of years ago, whether registering tld.tld labels is good idea.

But, lazy software design can lead to all sorts of innovation.
