Thanks, this is great for setting the terminal colors but I don't see a
way to change the "window frame" color: https://imgur.com/a/bedWL

Is this perhaps an Openbox setting?

Window decorations are the window manager's business. So, yes, in your
case that would presumably be openbox, or rather the theme you told it
to use. Beware that most themes are broken for GTK-3. I'm not sure
however if xfce4-terminal is GTK-2 or GTK-3.

As to the window frame . . . This is from the themerc that is provided by the clearlooks-phenix-darkpurpy-theme

!# general stuff

border.width: 1
padding.width: 3
padding.height: 2
window.handle.width: 3
window.client.padding.width: 0
menu.overlap: 2
*.justify: center

Look in the theme you are using for something similar and start experimenting. You might be able to add a color to that.

Yes, gtk3 apps are broken in openbox at least on clearlooks-phenix-darkpurpy-theme which has gtk3 compatibility in xfce but fails in openbox. In that theme, all gtk3 apps whether user (catfisn) or root (synaptic) default to Clearlooks (blue).
