yep. apparently the only solution we have for now is pinning. its a bit of a pity since Devuan Jessie is adamantine: thanks to Nextime's work on Amprolla (being maintained now by CenturionDan and Parazyd) we managed to avoid any pinning, which can be perceived a bit like ducktape... but in the specific case of samba there seems to be no other solution.
