Really but absolutely _not_ significantly. As I also said in the referenced post, IMO all those 'load on root/tld nameserver' arguments are ludicrously overblown as commonly advanced in (other instances of) these discussions. Methinks the people so arguing are basically bikeshedding (http://linuxmafia.com/~rick/lexicon.html#bikeshed) and don't really understand the effect of caching and huge TTL values.
