One glitch, simple to fix.. on first boot slim puked, the installer had failed to sort etc/slim.conf for the new username. I used startx, edited manually and rebooted, now all is good. One more. The rather elegantly styled grub menu lists "GNU/Linux" or "Unknown Linux Distribution", it didn't parse "Devuan". This was discussed before, I can't remember just now how I fixed that on my other install..
