Is there any relation between this discussion and the subject "Re: [DNG] Dng Digest, Vol 13, Issue 7" ?

The subject of a mail is one of the methods for sorting, either automatically or by eye. Please don't confuse things with false and/or meaningless subjects.

Methinks you might be confusing things just a trifle:

    - mailman (and majordomo, and sympa, and listserve....) are
    MAILING LIST
MANAGERS - they're what keeps track of all the people on a list, and
distributes mail to them - you don't use them to read mail (except
    that
some provide web-based access to archives)

    - you READ mailing list, and SEND to them, from a basic email client -
like gmail, or Thunderbird, or Outlook, or Mac's "Mail" program -
    all of
which include features for sorting and filtering mail, and to a lesser
or greater degree automatically displaying message threads and/or
    putting list mail into folders

If you're not happy with the gmail web interface, I'd suggest playing
with different clients that can support "IMAP" access to your mailbox

Sorry, my bad. I was not sure what to search for and thought mailman was what I wanted. The reason I was thinking of using something other that gmail was because of a discusion a few months ago here on this mailing list. That discussion was about the proper way to respond to messages and there was talk about the problem of using email services like gmail. I thought there were programs specifically made for mailing lists like this one. The reason I don't like gmail is because it is hard to reply to certain messages and when I want to quote someone I don't know how to show what is my message and what I am quoting. Also, I am not sure if I can block certain people from my list, like if some one is trolling the list and I don't want to see their messages.
