emacs file.txt 1) to move around you can use arrow keys + PagUp/PagDown[*]. 2) to insert or delete work as in nano 3) to save the current buffer to a file you use C-x C-s (i.e., "CTRL+x followed by CTRL+s"). N.B.: you dont even need to release CTRL between "x" and "s". 4) If you already have an emacs running and you want to open a file, you use C-x C-f and then the name of the file (you can also use tab-tab for auto-completion). 5) If you want to exit emacs you just use C-x C-c. My2Cents KatolaZ [*] If you don't want to do so, you can still use C-f for right (Forward), C-b for left (Backward), C-n for down (Next), C-p for up (Previous), C-v for PageDown and M-v for PageUp. "C-" stands for "hold CTRL", while "M-" stands for "hold ALT. -- [ Enzo Nicosia aka KatolaZ --- GLUG Catania -- Freaknet Medialab ] [ me [at] katolaz.homeunix.net -- http://katolaz.homeunix.net -- ] [ GNU/Linux User:#325780/ICQ UIN: #258332181/GPG key ID 0B5F062F ] [ Fingerprint: 8E59 D6AA 445E FDB4 A153 3D5A 5F20 B3AE 0B5F 062F ] _______________________________________________ Dng mailing list Dng@lists.dyne.org https://mailinglists.dyne.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dng
