Regardless of what you think of the name of tag, DMARC verifiers should have well-specified behavior when they look for the policy record for a domain, or check whether two domains are in relaxed alignment. If you think it's not, let us know and we can take a look. We have found and fixed plenty of bugs in the tree walk already so it's not impossible another one is lurking.
