I'm trying to get Django installed and I can't figure out why its not working. I purchased the book Djang 1.0 web site development and the install instructions in the book are identical to instructions on the Django site. It seems simple enough but for some reason I always catch hell when it comes to these things. I did exactly what I was told to do I ran the command (tar xzvf Django-1.1.1.tar.gz) from the terminal and I got an error that said No Such Directory was found and some other stuff.
I Googled info on how to install Django on Mac OS and was surprised to find almost no straightforward way to install it. I really would like to try Django but I can't even get this thing installed. Why doesn't Mac have an easy way to install stuff. Can someone please help me figure out what the problem is.
