Maybe the backslash is a problem.

Here is how my media alias looks like:

Alias /media/ "C:/Program Files/Apache Software
Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/django/media/"
<Directory "C:/Program Files/Apache Software
Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs/django/media/">
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
