Setting up Django is going fine until configuring MySQL. It requires MySQLdb, which I downloaded from sourceforge as MySQL- python-1.2.3c1.tar.gz (and MySQL-python-1.2.2.tar.gz) on Mac OS X, Redhat, and Windows. When I try decompressing then extracting the file returns error: "tar: This does not look like a tar archive". I've never had this problem with gzip/tar files and not sure where to look next. Any help on getting MySQLdb so I can move forward with Django would be great. Thanks!
