There is something missing here, because if anything was like this there would be more complaints. Do you have any javascript being loaded on the admin pages? Are your admin urls properly set up in your urlconf? Open up firebug and see what is happening when you click on a button. Is a request being made? Is it going to the right place and does it contain the right information? That would be where I would start. Because other people aren't reporting anything along these lines, we will need more information to help you out.
