I think what you're missing is that the division you are talking about doesn't really exist. You can think of it that way for documentation or social organisation purposes if you like, but it's not any kind of technical, functional or usability division. You access the admin pages through your web browser in exactly the same way as any other part of the site. There is no difference between the admin application and any other applications in Django (in that respect).
