I have four Python applications running in production and never had
any major issues before. Now, I would like to try Django but I'm
struggling with the very first step, the install / setup. Your help
will be much appreciated.

I'm running Python 2.6.1 and installed Django1.0.2 Final on my Windows
XP Service Pack 3 laptop.

When I try to set up my first Django project, I receive the following
message:

cd C:\DjangoProjects
C:\DjangoProjects>django-admin.py startproject myproject
Type 'django-admin.py help. For usage.

I get the same message when executing the following...
C:\DjangoProjects>django-admin.py help
Type 'django-admin.py help. For usage.

I am able to check the Django version
C:\DjangoProjects>python
Python 2.6.1 ….....
>>> import django
>>> django.VERSION
(1, 0, 2, 'final', 0)

My environment variables contain the following:

PATH = C:\Python26;C:\Python26\Scripts;C:\Python26\Tools;C:
\Python26\Tools\Scripts;C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\django\bin

PYTHONPATH = C:\Python26;C:\Python26\Scripts;C:\Python26\Tools;C:
\Python26\Tools\Scripts;C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\django\bin;C:
\DjangoProjects

My Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.py registry entry contains "C:
\Python26\python.exe" "%1" %* with the double quotes.

I closed my command prompt window and rebooted my machine multiple
times while troubleshooting this case but I'm still getting the same
message (Type 'django-admin.py help. For usage.) and I cannot set up a
Django project.

I'm I missing something?

Thanks in advance.
