My guess would be that you're missing the oracle shared object files
from the LD_LIBRARY_PATH, so:
    echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
if it's empty, do:
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/the/oracle/libraries

And then try starting the server.
