My directory structure is:

projects/
   django/
      __init__.py
         trunk/
            django/
               __init__.py
                  core/
                     __init__.py

and my PYTHONPATH is:

export PYTHONPATH=$HOME/projects:$HOME/projects/django/trunk:$HOME/
projects/flup/trunk:$PYTHONPATH
