True, it is a little much to transcribe, so I'll briefly summarize his main points for everyone else:
- Python sucks, especially significant whitespace (I agree heartily. Only Django keeps me using Python.) - Django could be a lot smarter about scaling the DB (sharding, denormalization, etc) - Inefficient session handling - Django's template language sucks (verbose) - ORM produces bad SQL - SQL query debugging is hard in Django - Lack of threading - No deployment tools - Database migration is painful - Not trendy enough - Needs more frequent releases - Dev team needs beards. - Wants a pony. Literally. Good points all around. I got the impression that he otherwise likes Django though. Does anyone know if Cal/Flickr persevered with using Django? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django users" group.
