All of the options you're suggesting would work just fine if only Meta ever got instantiated into an object. Alas, it doesn't. Django doesn't really use it as a means to create an object, but more as a way to create a separate namespace for all the various options you can set, without getting in the way of model fields and methods. Unfortunately, from your examples, I can't really figure out what problem you're trying to solve, so I don't know what to recommend for you.
