Well, you have to respect them and know what the valid licensing issues are. But they probably don't interfere with what you're trying to do. With all due respect, if your company is worried about this, the only correct answer is "talk to a lawyer". Open Source licenses aren't particularly hard to understand, but when they are also interacting with distributed proprietary stuff and when a corporation is worried about their liabilities, taking advice solely from an internet mailing list is probably not a good idea. But Open Source software is designed to be used. Freely and without onerous restrictions. So the sort of stuff you're talking about is exactly in line with those goals.
