I have been trying to get Django up and running on Mac OS X (10.5.3). I did everything in the tutorial and successfully got the server up and running. I made changes to the settings.py file, which were:
DATABASE_ENGINE = 'sqlite3' # 'postgresql_psycopg2', 'postgresql', 'mysql', 'sqlite3' or 'ado_mssql'. DATABASE_NAME = '/Users/jeff/django_tutorial/mysite/mydb' # Or path to database file if using sqlite3. when I run, python manage.py syncdb I get the following python traceback: ---------------------------------------------------------- Traceback (most recent call last): File "manage.py", line 11, in <module> execute_manager(settings) File "/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/django/core/management.py", line 1672, in execute_manager execute_from_command_line(action_mapping, argv) File "/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/django/core/management.py", line 1571, in execute_from_command_line action_mapping[action](int(options.verbosity), options.interactive) File "/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/django/core/management.py", line 504, in syncdb cursor = connection.cursor() File "/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/django/db/backends/sqlite3/ base.py", line 58, in cursor self.connection = Database.connect(**kwargs) sqlite3.OperationalError: unable to open database file ------------------------------------------------------------ I know sqlite3 is installed correctly because I can run it and use it. I know this isn't much information but is there anyone out there who can help me out? thanks, Jeff --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django users" group.
