No comment on technical aspects, but do bear in mind that:

1. Many employers forbid employees to disclose this information, as a
matter of policy, and
2. In some industries and some jurisdictions, discussions of pay can
actually be illegal (particularly among freelancers/contractors, who
are susceptible to charges of price-fixing and anti-competitive
collusion if they engage in certain types of discussions of their
rates).
