Any thoughts?
I remember seeing an MS office library for perl a very very long time ago. I'm sure that there is something out there for python that can spit native ms office formats out.

If worse comes to worse, make a csv exporter. There is details on doing that in the official django docs. csv is a standard that would allow whoever needs it to import it into more than just excel.
