Hi,

In the admin site I'd like to change the date format for date fields.
By default it's displayed in ISO format YYYY-MM-DD. I found a
discussion about this topic from 2006 which came to the conflusion
that it can't be changed.
Yesterday I came across the ticket "Support European date format for
JavaScript" - http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/6483 - but I have
no idea how use this code. I've just pasted the highlighted code into
the corresponding files. Unfortunately the date format is still the
same.

I admit I don't use the SVN version, but maybe the modification works
with 0.96, too. Does it?

This point is quite important for me, because in my opinion the
current date format is very confusing - or at least annoying, because
counterintuitive - for a average German user.

Christian
