Excellent! I was in a similar boat as you at last year's PyCon. I was relatively new to Python/Django and I decided that PyCon would be a good place begin understanding the community and learning more. As it turned out I came out a TON more knowledge and extremely eager to get rolling with many new ideas that I took away. It is good to see someone else in this same position. You will have a blast. To answer your question about the sprints (in which I did not attend last year, due to time) you should check out the SprintIdeas [1] page on the wiki. It will give you about all the information you need. Make sure to put your name on the SprintPyCon2008 [2] wiki page. I look forward to seeing you at PyCon this year!
