Everyone, I am going to use this thread to pimp the BEST VPS hosting (better than shared..almost as good as dedicated) company out there.
SliceHost. For $20/mo, you get full root access and 256 MB ram. For $40, you get double, etc. They are extremely fast, no garbage and just a nice bunch of guys. AND, you get to choose your own Linux distro! (from about 6-8) I am in no way affiliated with them. Just a happy customer. I am running my own Django app there...well, I am developing one. So that I will make tons of money in referral fees (yes, I am stooping that low), click on this link: https://manage.slicehost.com/customers/new?referrer=403232586 In all seriousness, these guys rock. I've done Pair, GoDaddy, CI Host, LFC, blah blah...SliceHost is the best. cbmeeks On Jan 15, 2:12 pm, shabda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Umm yes, I just meant that you get a own apache, and python instance, > and can customise it. > > On Jan 15, 11:17 pm, Fredrik Lundh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > shabda wrote: > > >> use django in a shared hosting environment or I need to buy a > > >> Dedicated server? > > > While many people run Django in shared hosting, IMHO, that leads to > > > much more trouble than it is worth.
