There IS a ton of stuff at work there, and it took forever to put it

No, I didn't go with Satchmo. It looks like a very nice app, but I got
the impression it would be overkill for my purposes, where I just have
a very small number of items that rarely change. So I went with a
hacked up version of django cart http://code.google.com/p/django-cart/
It's a pretty stripped-down cart, which made it easier for me to
customize for some of my more peculiar needs, like tying into the
circulation web service. Eric, the developer, was also very helpful
where I got stuck with the mostly undocumented cart.
